Odisha met its full quota at the 35th National Under-17 Open & Girls Chess Championships 2026, held at Rajpath Club on S.G. Highway, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, by fielding two players each in the Open and Girls categories. After the final round, 18th seeded Yashita Rout delivered an excellent performance, securing 6th place with 8 points from 11 rounds. WFM Prishita Gupta finished 14th with 7 points. In the Open section, 19th seeded Koustuv Das placed 25th with 7.5 points, while Stitaprangya Sahoo secured 99th with 6 points.
