AOCA Registration: All participants must register with the All Odisha Chess Association (AOCA). The registration process requires a completed registration form, a copy of the Date of Birth Certificate (issued by the Municipality or Gram Panchayat), a passport-sized photograph of the player, and a registration fee of ₹200/- (Rupees two hundred only), which will be collected at the venue.
Eligibility: Players should born on or after 01.01.2016.
Last Date of Entry: 05:00 PM on 01 May 2025. Late fee Rs. 100/- will be charged till 05:00 PM on 02 May 2025.
State Qualifiers: The top two (2) players from each category will be selected to represent Odisha State in the forthcoming National (U-9) OPEN & GIRLS Chess Championships to be held at Pragyanam School, Sector-65, Gurugram, Haryana from 15-21 June 2025.

Inaugural Function
The Odisha State (Under 9) OPEN & GIRLS Chess Championships 2025 were inaugurated at the JRD TATA Hall, Srusti Academy of Management (Autonomous) Bhubaneswar on 03 May, 2025 at 10:30 A.M.
The following guests were present in the inaugural ceremony.
The Chief Guest Shri Satya Ranjan Pattnaik, President, AOCA; Er. Saroj K. Sahoo, Chairman, Srusti Academy of Management and Technology; Shri Bhabesh Mohanty, Jt. Secretary, AOCA.



Valedictory-cum-Prize Distribution Ceremony
The three-day chess tournament for Under 9 Boys & Girls was a thrilling experience for the participants, showcasing their honesty and patience at the grass-root level. The event concluded with a memorable Valedictory Ceremony and Prize Distribution at 5:30 P.M. on May 5, 2025, at JRD TATA Hall of Srusti Academy of Management and Technology. A total of 120 participants (81 in the Open category & 39 in the Girls category) from 14 districts took part in the event.
The following guests were present on the dais.
Chief Guest: Shri Padma Charan Sahoo, Dy. Secretary, Sports, Govt. of Odisha, Honoured Guest: Shri Debabrata Bhatta, Secretary, AOCA; Dr Anwesh Upadhyay, International Master; Shri G.D. Mishra, Dean Placement, Srusti Academy of Management and Technology; Honoured Guest: Shri Bikram Keshari Biswal, Founder MCF, Tournament Director; IA Santosh Kumar Mohapatra and IA Suresh Chandra Sahoo, Chief Arbiter.



This championship provided a platform for young chess talents to showcase their skills and sportsmanship. The top 2 finishers from the Open and Girls categories (listed below) have been honoured to represent Odisha in the upcoming “38th National Under-9 Open & Girls Chess Championships 2025.” This prestigious national event will be held at Pragyanam School, Sector-65, Gurugram, Haryana, from June 15 to 21, 2025.
