In the final round (10) Grandmaster Sayantan Das, RSPB drew with top seed Grandmaster Dipatyan Ghosh of RSPB and scored 8.0/10 to win the Championship of 1st SOA International GM Chess Festival Category A (1900 and above 2000) Rating Tournament 2024 with the prize amount of ₹ 3,00,000/-. He finished a half point ahead of rest. Three players – GM Dipatayan Ghosh, IM Sambit Panda and IM Neelash Shah scored 7.5/10 each.
They were placed second to fourth according to tie-breaks. GM Diptayan Ghosh clinched the Runner-up trophy with the prize amount of ₹ 2,00,000/- . IM Sambit Panda of Odisha lost due to a terrific blunder in the 3rd round from FM Goutham Krishna H, Kerala and come back with 6 wins 3 draws and one loss. Finally, he became 2nd Runner-up bagged ₹ 1,50,000/-.

Four players – Sudhanshu Ranjan, Akshat Negi, Kolla Bhaavan and Ashutosh Kumar scored 8/10 each. They were placed second to fifth according to tie-breaks. Ashutosh Kumar skipped the first two rounds and then scored 8/8 in the eight games he played. The total prize fund of the tournament was ₹7,50,000. The top three prizes were ₹75,000, ₹50,000 and ₹40,000 along with a trophy each respectively. This was Tapan’s first tournament triumph of the year 2024.
