International chess player from Odisha, Ms. Prishita Gupta, has been awarded the Gold Medal in the Under-16 Girls category at the Commonwealth Chess Championship 2025, held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 8th to 17th November 2025. Players from sixteen countries participated in this prestigious event. It is a proud moment for Odisha that she also secured the Gold Medal in the Girls’ category of the Commonwealth Blitz event. Additionally, she was awarded a Silver Team Medal in the Girls’ Rapid Chess event at the 27th Asian Youth Chess Championship 2025, held in Bangkok from 20th to 30th November 2025. In recognition of her remarkable achievements and for bringing laurels to the state, Shri Debabrata Bhatta, Secretary of the All Odisha Chess Association, congratulated her and extended his best wishes for her future endeavors.
