From Odisha to the World Stage: Prishita Gupta’s WIM Milestone

FM Prishita Gupta has earned the Women’s International Master (WIM) title. The 14-year-old from Odisha is the fourth player from the state to achieve this distinction. She secured her three WIM norms at the Trophee Dole Pasino Grand Open in Aix-en-Provence (July 2025), GM Mix 11 Fantastico in Senta, Serbia, and GM Mix 13 Fantastico, also in Senta.

Prishita has consistently ranked among the world’s top players in her age group. She was world No. 1 in Under-14 girls from August to December 2025 and is currently world No. 1 in Under-15 girls, according to the January 2026 FIDE rating list. She is also the Commonwealth Under-16 Girls Champion (2025).
