Odisha’s young chess talent, Candidate Master Sattwik Swain, delivered an impressive performance at the Commonwealth Youth Chess Championship 2026 in the Under-10 Open category, winning one silver medal in the classical format and two bronze medals in the rapid and blitz events. The championship was held at Hotel Citrus, Kalutara, Sri Lanka, from 17 to 25 May 2026.
Sattwik came into the tournament with strong credentials. Last year, he won the national Under-9 open title, and his consistent performances earned him selection to represent India at this prestigious international event.
His medal-winning campaign has brought pride to Odisha’s chess community and added another milestone to his growing list of achievements. The entire chess fraternity of Odisha has congratulated Sattwik Swain on this remarkable success.
